•We have an astronomical observatory on Mount Teide at 2,390 metres (7,840 ft) that can boast of being the largest solar observatory in the world.
•There is a cliff face made up of giant rock formations that rise from the sea up to a height of 500-800 metres (1,640–2,625 ft) called Acantilado los Gigantes which means "The Giants".
•La Laguna, full name San Cristobal de La Laguna, is a town in the north of Tenerife. A very important historical centre, so much so that it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its grid plan was designed in the 15th century and became a model for cities in the Americas including Cartagena de Indias in Colombia and Old Havana in Cuba.
•Widely considered to be at least 800 years old, The Drago Milenario de Icod de los Vinos, in the north of the island of Tenerife (Canary Islands), is a huge specimen of the dragon tree (Dracaena draco) declared a National Monument in 1917. Known as the Dragon Tree, it stands at almost 20metres (65ft).
•At sunset or sunrise you can see the shadow of Mount Teide, so tall that a large part of the shadow is cast over the ocean.
•By the way, If measured from the ocean floor, its height of 7,500 m (24,600 ft) makes Teide the third-highest volcano in the world, and is described by UNESCO and NASA as Earth's fourth-tallest volcanic structure.
•Agatha Christie in El Puerto de la Cruz. If you have read the story of "The Man from the Sea", perhaps her words take you to nearby landscapes such as the cliffs of Martianez or the gardens of the La Paz estate.
•In February 1927, overwhelmed by the pressure of the press after the death of her mother and her divorce, she decided to travel to the Canary Islands with her daughter. She stayed at the legendary Hotel Taoro, where, it is said, she would go for walks and have gatherings in its gardens.
•Whale and Dolphin watching off the coast of Adeje is a true treat. Either by boat trp or scuba diving, you can get close and Marvel and their grace and beauty.
•Parque Rural de Anaga, Sendero de los Sentidos, Montaña Blanca, Barranco de Masca, to name but a few of the best hiking trails. Often there are different routes, planned for easy to difficult, with local guides able to take the more adventurous on trails.
•Garachico natural pools, there are several of these throughout the island.
•And after all of these places, you need to visit the “guachinches”, local eateries that serve up traditional food and wine, with various dishes that include potatoes, pineapple, ribs, fish, goat, chick peas, and one of the Canary Island´s most famous exports: bananas.
